Matthew Emmer is a communications attorney turned political communications consultant and strategist, editor and writer. Matt’s experience in media dates back more than 25 years, including stints at CNN, where he worked on the “Crossfire” program, and at the Federal Communications Commission. After law school in Boston, Matt worked as a communications lawyer in Washington, DC, representing cable television and media companies on major policy and business matters, including some of the biggest communications company mergers of the past 20 years. Over 10 years ago, Matt followed his passions and started his own communications business.
At his company, MDE Communications, Matt has edited and written a variety of media for his clients, including books, textbooks, websites, online articles, blogs, ebooks, academic papers, resumes, press releases, graphic novels, comic books and video game development documents. Matt’s extensive communications, political and legal knowledge allows him to add value and provide strategic advice to his clients.
Matt also has a deep focus in political communications and messaging. He has been a political consultant and strategist with Bold Blue Campaigns, he is a regular guest and former co-host on political talk radio shows and podcasts, and he is the founder of the Messaging Matters blog which focuses on political communications and messaging. Matt was also the “L.A. County Political Buzz” columnist for the Examiner.com website from 2009 to 2014.
